Prof. Hans Geinitz (pictured, left) and senior physician Dr. Johann Feichtinger: "Superficial hyperthermia opens up new possibilities for us in the treatment of patients with cutaneous recurrences of breast carcinoma. We think it will help us to improve the quality of life of these patients. This also applies to the use in other superficial tumours".

The Ordensklinikum Linz is very interested in further scientific evaluation of the method - in cooperation with other users in Germany, Switzerland and the Netherlands.

2) Clinica Holistica Engiadina is the world's first specialist burnout clinic to use heckel whole-body hyperthermia in routine clinical practice for the treatment of depression.

The first heckel-HT3000 was delivered last week to world's first burnout specialist clinic, where the device will be in routine use for the treatment of depression. Clinica Holistica Engiadina strives to help patients fight depression following the first application reports from Dr.scient.med. Kay-Uwe Hanusch in 2011, the resulting depression study at the University of Arizona with the publication of Janssen et al. 2016 in JAMA Psychiatry, and the clinical studies in progress at Charite Berlin and Kliniken Essen-Mitte.

The medical director of Clinica Holistica Engiadina in Susch/Switzerland, Dr. med. Dipl. Theol. Michael Pfaff, psychiatrist and psychotherapist, writes in the Clinica Holistica-Newsletter: "As a psychiatrist in inpatient psychiatry, I see the primary application in an early phase of treatment with severely exhausted and inhibited patients, who can be set up more quickly for intensive process work through the vitalising effect."

3) Well Wishes for Christmas and New Year
The year 2020 was dominated by the Corona crisis. In February 2020, we still successfully participated in the Indian Hyperthermia Congress in Mumbai, after which all events, trade fairs and congresses at which we wanted to present wIRA superficial hyperthermia and whole-body hyperthermia were cancelled. We are slowly getting used to virtual conferences and yet, feel only too well how little they can be a substitute for face-to-face meetings. Several firmly planned international projects, especially for the introduction of superficial hyperthermia, are on hold.

In view of these completely unexpected difficulties and challenges, the year went surprisingly well with important new publications and new users, as you can see from this year's newsletters and the "News" section on the heckel-Homepage.

We would like to express our sincere thanks to our customers and partners, without whom this would not have been possible!

It is hard to predict what restrictions we will have to face next year as well. In particular, we hope that the 27. Jahrestagung der DEGRO on 24-27 June 2021 in Stuttgart and the "International Congress of Hyperthermic Oncology" - ICHO on 06-09 October in Rotterdam will take place as planned and that we will be able to present our products there.

The whole heckel team wishes you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2021!
